Use of Was/Were in Hindi – Was/Were का प्रयोग :
दोस्तों इस पोस्ट के माध्यम से मैं आप लोगों को Basic English सीखने का प्रयास कर रहा हूं। बेसिक इंग्लिश सीखने का आज हमारा दुसरा दिन होगा जिसमें हम देखेंगे Use of Was/Were in Hindi को।
इस पोस्ट में, मैं आपको Structure, Example के द्वारा Was/Were का प्रयोग को समझायेंगे। साथ ही साथ कुछ Exercise के माध्यम से भी प्रश्न दिए जाएंगे जिसे आप स्वयं करेंगे।

Use of Is/Am/Are
Was and Were, Verb ‘To be’ का रुप होती है। जिन्हें Finite Verbs के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। Was and Were का प्रयोग Past tense में Subject के Number और Person के अनुसार होता हैं।
जब वह किसी अंत में, था, थी, थे मुख्य क्रिया के रूप में प्रयुक्त रहे तो ऐसे वाक्य का अंग्रेज़ी अनुवाद was/were के प्रयोग से किया जाता है।
- Was का प्रयोग – I, She,He, It and Singuli Nouns के साथ
- Were का प्रयोग – We, You, They, Plural Nouns के साथ
Affirmative Sentences: Using ‘Was/Were’
Structure: Subject + Verb ‘To be’ (was/were) + complement

Mahatma Gandhi was a great saint.
2.उनका प्रयास सफल था ।
His efforts were successful.
3.वह अहिंसा के पुजारी थे।
He was a worshipper of non-violence.
4.मेरा मित्र अत्यंत कष्ट में था।
My friend was in deep distress.
5.उसकी आँखें नम थी।
His eyes were moist.
6.वह नखरेबाज औरत थी ।
She was a vamp.
7.वह अत्यंत सुन्दर और आकर्षक थी।
She was all grace, all charm.
8.वह अति सुन्दरी थी।
She was a Paragon of beauty.
9.यह सब पुरानी मनगढन्त कहानी थी।
It was all old wives tales.
10.मैं उसके अधीन था।
I was his subordinate.
11.वह मेरा मालिक (प्रधान) था।
He was my boss.
12.वह हथियार से लैस था।
He was armed to the teeth.

There was not scorching heat.
7.जून का महीना नहीं था।
It was not the month of June.
